Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has claimed he will leave the Premier League club and make a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Gala have been increasingly linked with a move for Mikel in recent weeks, having reportedly made the Nigeria international their top transfer target.

Following the return of Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge, Mikel has now confirmed will be making the switch to play his football in Istanbul.

"I have played at Chelsea for a long time and it's now time for me to leave," Mikel is quoted as saying by Turkish newspaper Sabah.

"I'm still only 26 and it's great to receive an offer from a club [Galatasaray] playing Champions League football and doing well in the competition."
Chelsea invested £17million for Mikel when they secured his services in 2006, but the midfielder does not believe agreeing a fee will prove hard.

''Talks have reached an advanced level between Chelsea and Galatasaray. Chelsea won't make the move difficult and regarding my salary there won't be a problem. All that is left is for the clubs to reach an agreement," he added.
