Presidential Candidate Arrested For Fraud
The
presidential candidate of Hope Democratic Party, HDP, in the 2011
presidential election in Nigeria, Chief Ambrose Owuru, has been arrested
by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an
allegation of obtaining the sum of N66 million from Ikechukwu Eze, under
false pretence.
However, in the process of taking possession of the property, Eze discovered that a portion had been sold to another person.
At this point, Owuru allegedly asked for another N6 million to settle the other buyer, Chief Austin Omire, which Eze allegedly obliged him.
Since then, every attempt to take possession or develop the said property met with resistance, said the victim.
After receiving the petition and commencement of investigation, EFCC invited Owuru severally but he refused to honour the invitation, which culminated in his arrest.
In a press release signed by Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, the Acting Head of Media & Publicity at EFCC, the commission stated that investigation into the matter is ongoing.

ASUU strike: NANS exco splits, disowns president
Members of the national executive of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, have
disowned the national president, Mr. Yinka Gbadebo, on his support for
the Federal Government in the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union
of Universities, ASUU.
The
executive members who included national assistant secretary general,
Ali Mohammed , the national sports director, Talib Abubakar Gumel,
director of travels and exchange, Olusegun Oyebisi, said there was no
consultation on the issues before Gbadebo declared NANS support for the
Federal Government.
“The national president did not
have our mandate to support the federal government over the strike as we
are a neutral body. We do not support either the federal government or
ASUU because it is the students that bear the brunt of the strike,” Ali
who spoke on behalf of his colleagues said yesterday.
“We call on ASUU and the Federal Government to resolve the issue within seven days so that the students can return to their campuses.”
“We do not understand why the national president should support the federal government or what concerns students with what is happening between the Rivers State governor and the President. The matter is between the two of them it does concern the students.”

APC to embark on massive membership drive
The newly registered All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded
plans to embark on massive membership drive and enlightenment, Alhaji
Umar Duhu, the National Vice Chairman, North East, has said.
Duhu
said on Thursday in Yola that the party, “which is the much awaited
platform and alternative for selfless service, wants its presence to be
felt at all levels”.
“You know, Nigerians were so enthusiastic about APC being registered; so we have to match our words with actions by reaching out to them.
“We want to establish structures across the country beyond ward level. We want to be the first party to have structures at unit level,” Duhu said.
Duhu, a former State Chairman of defunct ANPP in Adamawa, said that ANPP recently received about 300,000 new members in the state, “who are now automatic members of APC”.
He said the party was confident of its chances in the 2015 general elections.
Duhu said that the party was in talks with some governors, who are interested in becoming members of the APC.
“As at today, many governors are in talks with us. From the number I have now, we have at least 23 governors coming to APC.
“I am assuring the party members, particularly those that are just coming in, of equal opportunities,” Duhu said
Also in Nsukka, Enugu state Prof. Aloysius Okolie said that the INEC registration of ANPP, ACN and CPC merger to form the All Progressive Congress (APC) would strengthen democracy in Nigeria.
Okolie, a Professor of Political Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, made the observation in an interview in Nsukka on Thursday.
He said that, with the registration of APC, there was now a strong opposition and alternative party if the ruling party failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
“The registration of APC by INEC on Wednesday is a welcome development and a plus to the country’s democracy.
“With strong opposition, the ruling party will strive to be transparent and accountable to the electorate to avoid being voted out of power, “ he said.
He said that with the registration of APC, the ANPP, ACN and CPC would cease to exist as political parties, because their certificates would be withdrawn by INEC.
“I commend INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega’s commitment to deepen democracy as well as being fair to all political parties in the country.
“In no distant time, I foresee PDP and APC as the main political parties in the country, ‘’ he said.
The professor, however, advised APC leadership to ensure that all understandings reached by the three merged political parties were respected in the interest of the new party.
He said that the ability of APC to successfully harmonise its activities would determine if the party would stand the test of time or not.
According to him, 2015 general elections will be a litmus test to the newly-registered party.
“I urge political parties, both ruling and oppositions to also play the game of politics according to the rules, so as to move the country forward, “he said. (NAN)

BBA: Nigeria's Beverly Osu Asks Angelo If He Can Marry Her
Big Brother Nigeria’s Representative, Beverly Osu & South African, Angelo’s love seems to be growing stronger by the day.
Last night while having a quiet intimate moment together Beverly Osu told Angelo that she’s in love with him.

Beverly quickly defended herself saying she has told him everything there is to know about her, including how she used to sleep with men for money to help her family and how she once had an abortion.
She went on further to ask him a question “Can you marry a person like me?”

UNBELIEVABLE: KENYAN LAWYER TAKES ISRAEL, JEWS TO COURT OVER JESUS DEATH.
A Kenyan lawyer has filed a petition with the International
Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, suggesting that the trial
and crucifixion of Jesus Christ was unlawful, and the state of Israel among others should be held responsible.
Dola Indidis, a lawyer and former spokesman of the Kenyan Judiciary is reportedly attempting to sue Tiberius (Emperor of Rome 42 BC-37AD), Pontius Pilate, a selection of Jewish elders, King Herod, the Republic of Italy and the State of Israel. “Evidence today is on record in the bible, and you cannot discredit the bible,” Indidis said. “I filed the case because it’s my duty to uphold the dignity of Jesus and I have gone to the ICJ to seek justice for the man from Nazareth,” Indidis said. “His selective and malicious prosecution violated his human rights through judicial misconduct, abuse of office bias and prejudice.”
Indidis named the states of Italy and Israel in the lawsuit because upon the attainment of independence, the two states incorporated the laws of the Roman Empire, those in force at the time of the Crucifixion.
He is challenging the mode of questioning used during Jesus’ trial, prosecution, hearing and sentencing; the form of punishment meted out on him while undergoing judicial proceedings and the substance of the information used to convict him.
Indidis says he wants to establish what crime Jesus was charged with and prays that the court decides “that the proceedings before the Roman courts were a nullity in law for they did not conform to the rule of law at the material time and any time thereafter.” “Some of those present spat in his face, struck him with their fists, slapped him, taunted him, and pronounced him worthy of death,”
Indidis added.
When Jesus died, Indidis insists he was not given an opportunity to be heard. “I am suing as a friend,” he said. Indidis insisting on the validity of his case, said, “I know with a matter of fact and truth we have a good case with a high probability of success and I hope it is done in my lifetime.”
Hague speaks
A spokesperson from the ICJ said, “The ICJ has no jurisdiction for such a case. The ICJ settles disputes between states. It is not even theoretically possible for us to consider this case.”

We Dont Want Tonto Dikeh's Services Anymore - Movie Producers
Tonto Dike recent surge to super stardom might be taking a
hit recently due to some directors and movie producers are trying to
avoid her.
The actress had received criticism on many a movie she starred in making her a hot cake for producers who want her to be part of their movies due to her logic in script interpretation.
The enchanting young actress still have a lot in store for her and she could achieve whatever she want to achieve in the industry.
Nollywood is just a step in the right direction to become a world renowned. She has the charisma, physics, face and other attributes anyone could think of to become a star. But the crazy incidents of late is not telling good of her image. It could be a strategy to be hyped by the media, but controversies easily kills a celebrity image.
Hitz can exclusively report that there is a current gang up to frustrate the career of actress, Tonto Dikeh, who is also a darling to controversies.
Tonto who hugs, chews and pampers controversy in a very helplessly controversial manner is said to have bitten more than she can chew in recent times following her rude and troublesome behaviour while on set. A certain top movie Director who wouldn’t want his name mentioned, was directing a movie on a set at Asaba with Tonto Dikeh playing lead in the movie and ever since he came back to Lagos after the shoot, he has not stopped complaining about how rude and abusive Tonto played out herself all through at the location.
According to him, “Tonto Dikeh is such a rot and lacks every bit of home training, apologies to her parents. ‘I tried to control myself in order not to disrupt the set, but I got upset over the kind of insult Tonto, heaped on the makeup artiste on the set. A woman who is old enough to be her mother” ‘Are you stupid, don’t you know what you are supposed to do? Must I remind you before you’ll know you are supposed to make me up’? Those were said to be Tonto’s words to the already fuming makeover artiste who was at the verge of throwing back some punch lines at her.
At this point, the director was said to have lashed at Tonto
seriously and washed her in, out, left, right and center until the
situation was later calmed down by the producer of the movie. This was
sequaled by a certain report made available to this medium that due to
her controversial lifestyle and appetite for trouble, Tonto’s colleagues
now isolate themselves from her, as well as some of her very close
friends.
Meanwhile a check by this medium has revealed that top movie producers and directors have teamed up to frustrate Tonto Dikeh due to mannerless attitude while on set. According to them, “that little brat, apart from her addictions to marijuana and cigarette, doesn’t give a damn about whose ox is gored, she abuses, throw tantrums and fight on set at every slightest provocation and we must make sure she’s humiliated. She seem to have gathered to much weight and has hurriedly forgotten those days when she used to go on bended knees for a ‘waka pass’ role in movies. We’ll teach her a lesson’. They vowed.
On the other hand, records have it that the ‘Mother Controversy’ as Tonto is now widely addresses by colleagues doesn’t enjoy the best of relationship with most of her colleagues. Among whom are: Mercy Johnson, her arch rival, Mamma Gee, even though she was credited of introducing her to the industry big time, Genevieve, although the genesis of their disagreement was not stated, Nonso Diobi for rebuking her over abusive comments on Mercy Johnson. Other names given are, Nuella Njubigbo and Monalisa Chinda, all of whom are producers’ top demands in movies.
Meanwhile producers and directors, who have worked with her, have described Mercy Johnson as a down to earth person, cheerful and cool-headed to work with. Sources who spoke exclusively to www.myemag.net claim it’s the reason MJ as Mercy is famously addressed is of a very high demand in movies in the past few years, especially now that Nollywood is shifting base to Asaba in Delta State, Nigeria.
Mercy Johnson, married to Odianose Okojie, blessed with a beautiful baby, Purity has countless of movies to her credit and has won to herself, too numerous fans within a short period of time.

CALL ME AUNTY, I AM NOT YOUR MATE FATHIA BALOGUN TELLS IYABO OJO
The low-keyed but highly hyped wedding of Nollywood actress, Toyin
Aimakhu to his Tinsel actor husband, Niyi Johnson would have been marred
by drama.
This is because Fathia Balogun and Iyabo Ojo nearly disrupted the ceremony with a fight. If you think a man might be the cause of the brouhaha, then you are very far from the 411.
As we reliably learnt from eye witnesses, seniority claims led to the rise of their adrenalins.
It was gathered that Fathia Balogun first got to the event held on
Monday, July 8, 2013 at Sabitex Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, after the marriage
registry at the Ikoyi Registry, before Iyabo Ojo got there. It was while
Iyabo was greeting her colleagues that trouble started, which led to a
hot exchange of words between the two stars. This is because Fathia Balogun and Iyabo Ojo nearly disrupted the ceremony with a fight. If you think a man might be the cause of the brouhaha, then you are very far from the 411.

Those who claimed to be at the event said when Iyabo got to where Fathia was sitting, she allegedly called the former wife of Saidi Balogun by her name, which angered Fathia. She was said to have told others at the event to warn Iyabo from calling her by her name if she cannot add the prefix ‘aunty’ to her name as a sign of respect in Yoruba land.
Iyabo didn’t take this lightly with Fathia, who reportedly insisted on knowing what Fathia would do is she refuses to add the prefix to her name. The two were almost throwing punches at each other but for the quick intervention of their colleagues.
