Covenant University To Recall Expelled Students

After so many criticisms and appeals on the expulsion of over 120 students from Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State for not attending a university assembly, the Management of the institution led by Bishop David Oyedepo has agreed to reduce their punishment to 4 weeks suspension.

Reports indicate that several groups including parents, lawyers and National Human Rights Commission are part of those that appealed to the management of the school for a rethink on the judgement slammed on the students.

Sources say the students are expected to resume back to school later this month or early February.
It would be recalled that the Bishop, David Oyedepo privately owned university is known for its strict rules and discipline, and expelled the student last year for not attending an assembly.

GUYS, THESE ARE THE 5 MAIN REASONS WHY YOU ARE STILL SINGLE!

There is a huge difference between the guys who get girls on a consistent basis and the one’s who just can’t seem to get attention from the opposite s*x no matter how hard they try. If your love life is on the skids, it’s safe to assume that you are probably guilty of one of these 5 blunders.

1. You’re too needy
If you want to run a woman off quickly, one of the best ways to do it is to be overly needy, i.e., excessively calling, emailing or sending text messages early in a relationship, always being available and doing everything she wants. Furthermore, women are not attracted to the type of man who needs too much support, validation, and constant reinforcement.

2. You don’t know how to build attraction
Many men fail in this area because they don’t know how to talk to women in a way that makes them more interested as time goes on. You need to learn the trigger points in women, i.e., how they think, react, and speak. You also have to know how to project your best qualities and use these to build attraction.

3. You’re looking in the wrong places
Trying to meet women in bars and clubs is a waste of time! Many women do not like meeting men at bars and have a natural resistance to men who approach them in these settings. Some of the best places to meet single women are shopping centers, coffee shops, concerts and gyms. Women KNOW that guys who are in bars and clubs are looking for one-night stands, but they don’t expect to be hit on in the above scenarios (element of surprise).

4. You don’t have confidence
Women are attracted to men with self-confidence, period. Nobody wants a guy who acts unsure of himself. A sexually confident man who is secure about his sexuality and is comfortable being who he is will always attract more women.

5. You’re not persistent
Second to not even trying, giving up too early is the most common mistake guys make. You may need to get rejected a few dozen times before you come across a girl that likes you. Remember, meeting women is about numbers, so continue to go out and meet as many women as possible to improve your chances.

“Nigerians Eat Better Food In Their Homes Than Mr. President” – Reuben Abati

             Do you agree with him?

This is an extract of the interview conducted with the  presidential spokesman.

Have you ever eaten with him?
It’s normal now if you are a presidential aide. He doesn’t eat alone. And I have written an article about what he eats.
I missed the article. What is his favourite food?
I think I have written about it. And he too likes to crack jokes. You know, he read an article once and he came to report back to us that he just read a piece somewhere and maybe somebody said something that “if you go to the Villa, the President consumes a whole turkey at every meal. He said why somebody would write that.  Is it possible for one human being to sit down and consume one whole turkey in the morning and another one in the afternoon and another in the evening? The president eats very simple food. What do I consider his favourite foods? Pepper soup, yam, boiled plantain.
He is not a salad person? He doesn’t do salad and all those stuffs?
When do they even serve salads? Maybe on Sunday afternoon, because when he leaves church and goes home, some guests may come back home with him and he will have lunch with them. And what does he eat? Rice. In fact, many Nigerians eat better food in their homes than the president.
That is subjective.
What is special in pepper soup, yam and boiled plantain and stew and maybe rice?

Nigeria Can Be Great Again!

Nigeria is truly a great country. We are blessed abundantly with both natural and human resources. We are blessed with very hard working people, who if given a little opportunity will excel in any endeavour. But the opportunities are simply not available. We have the will and the capacity to do better and improve our lives, but the environment is not conducive for such.

In every society, social change is driven by a particular subset of that society. Today, this change for a new Nigeria is driven by the youth. This group is made up of young people; school leavers, job seekers, young professionals, and technocrats, whose collective dream is to see a better Nigeria. The older generation may claim that the young lack experience but time has shown this to be false.

When Obama came out and ran for the American presidency, he was said to be too young; that he lacked experience. His opponent, John McCain, was assumed better suited for the job, with years of political experience and a sitting governor for a running mate! The change that swept America, swept them away. When Louis Ignacio Da Silva of Brazil ran for president in his country, he too was assumed to be too young, and inexperienced. Today, the change he wrought in Brazil has seen the Brazilian economy soar and country move from international back stage to the limelight.

The Nigerian economy is performing below its potential and is not creating enough jobs for our fast growing youth population. Though the economy is growing at around 6% per annum, it could grow at a much faster pace and more importantly it could create more jobs if the right policies are pursued.

The time for the Nigerian youths to come together is now, we must unite and salvage our country and our future from vultures who are hell bent on milking us dry. 2015 general elections will be the perfect time to it right once and for all.
