The State of Osun House of Assembly
has approved a N10 billion loan request by the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf
Aregbesola, sought jointly with the 30 local government councils and
Ife-East Area Office.
The loan was requested in order to finance the construction of 218.891 kilometers of roads across the state.
Each local government is to construct a ten kilometer road in their domain.
Also, the House passed the Anti-Domestic Violence Bill, 2013, moved by the House Leader, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, member representing Ilesa East, into Law.
The motion was seconded by the Deputy Chief Whip, Akin Taiwo Adeyemi (Ayedaade) at plenary.
The Speaker, Najeem Salaam, urged the Ministry of Information and Strategy to sensitize residents on the law which he explained protects women and other vulnerable people from all forms of domestic abuses, such as battery and denial of their rights.
