In a classical story of grass to grace, Jumoke Orisaguna went from hawking bread on the streets of Lagos to becoming a top model signed to a modeling agency and gaining international fame and prominence.
Jumoke is a native of Iree, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, she was an apprentice at a hair dressing salon for years, graduated but couldn't open her own shop for lack of finance. she resorted to working as an assistant in her mentor's hair dressing shop.
When Jumoke couldn't cope she abandoned her husband and two children, and ran away to Lagos to begin hustling on the street hawking bread.
As faith will have it, she unknowingly ran into a video shooting session, her wares perched atop her head, and in that split second her life changed forever.
PopularNigerian photographer TY Bello is behind the change in Jumoke's fortunes. TY was photographing UK popstar Tinie Tempah when Jumoke walked into the shot. TY took her shoot posted it on line and it immediately went viral. According to TY "people already thought she was a model, nobody wanted to believe she only photo-bombed, so I said so be it" then the search for her began.
Today, Jumoke is a student of Poise Nigeria where she is to study Proficiency in English Grammar and Communication as well as One on One Personality Development Course fully paid for by Sujimoto Construction Limited. She also signed a money spinning contract as the new face of Payporte, she has also become a brand ambassador with Stanbic Bank.
